Eureka Birds is…

Eureka Birds is from Baltimore, MD and plays many shows in that area. Their debut album was created in 15 days over the course of a year in 5 trips to Indianapolis to work with Tyler Watkins. On the album, Justin sang and played keyboards and drums and Dave played guitar. At the time, good friend Allin Hinton was part of the project and layed down bass parts. With some extra contributions from violinist Erik Kang, vocalist Emily Watkins, and trumpeter Hubert Glover, the band’s self-titled debut, Eureka Birds, was finished in the fall of 2008.
In between trips to Indianapolis, IN, Justin and Dave enticed other members into the band through Craigslist and rough mixes of their work. Dami Soh, cellist; Jason Hoffheins, drummer; Mike Passariello, bassist; and Nathan Royer, euphonium player would all come together to create Eureka Birds as they are today.
The band is currently working on their second album. This album is being produced (again) by Tyler Watkins and is expected to be released in the spring of 2010.
